The It Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

I chose the song "Supermodel" by Jill Sobule because I feel that it connects with my story very well. In the book The It Girl, the character, Jenny, is trying to be the new popular girl at her private school. I think the lyrics fit well with this because it is saying shes going to be a supermodel and nothing is getting in her way. This sounds exactly like Jenny, she wants to be popular no matter what and will not stop at anything until she achieves it. Jenny does not care what she dresses like, talks like, acts like and even sounds like, she will try anything to be the new "It" girl. 

When Jenny finally gets to her goal and becomes the most talked about girl at school (in good ways and bad), she regrets changing and trying to be what everyone else wants. She realizes that she shouldn't change for other people and she is fine just the way she is, people should love her for her and not anyone that she made herself into.
